Welcome to Cambridge.

A welcome from our Grammar School Principal.

Welcome, Grammar School families, to the 2022-23 school year! I especially want to welcome the new families who are joining our school community this year.  It’s a great time to be a Grammar School family. The tried-and-true methods of classical Christian education that have been formative in shaping countless lives in centuries past, have proven to be tried-and-true for today’s students as well. Considering the fine young men and women Cambridge will graduate this year in our sixth graduating class and their progress toward of the portrait of a graduate, we can confidently say, “This philosophy and method of education works!”

Each incremental piece of the Grammar stage is filled with wonder and work with the end goal of producing wisdom in our children. The wonder comes in carefully crafted lessons, special feast days and experiences that students anticipate from grade to grade. These special times make the work more enjoyable and memorable. How else can we help students embrace the hard work? What can we do in the younger years to help them be successful for this school year and for years to come? One idea is to ensure that our children are contributing to the family by consistently helping with housework, yard work, and other duties. Love and Logic parenting reminds us that “Children who are in the habit of successfully completing chores are far more likely to develop a habit of successfully completing academic assignments.” As we approach this new school year, I am grateful for our community of like-minded families who care about instilling both virtue and academic vigor in their children. We will not waiver in our commitment to an education that does not merely inform, but also forms students in wisdom and virtue, and steadfastly prepares them for a life of service to God and neighbor. We trust that this summer break has been filled with good family time and rest. In just a few weeks from now, we are looking forward to starting a new school year. As your children embark upon the next incremental piece of their journey on the path toward wisdom, we are thankful that
God has called us to be part of it.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Mrs. Jenni Helj
